How To Get Glowing Skin For Your Wedding Day
Mario Badescu Skin Care
Getting gorgeous skin on a daily basis is tough enough, but getting glowing skin for your wedding is a whole other challenge. To help through the process, the skincare geniuses at Mario Badescu have given us a beauty timeline and amazing tips for getting radiant skin on your wedding day.
6 Months Before
Start a program of facials. To have the best results find an aesthetician that you like and request him or her for all appointments. This will give them the opportunity to get to know your skin and work to improve its condition.
3 Weeks Before
Stick to a morning and night skincare regiment of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Above all, never sleep with your makeup on or pick at blemishes, as this can cause redness and scarring.
If you’re using a makeup artist for your wedding day, be sure to meet with them weeks before and let them know if you will be in the sun on your big day. Lastly, if you’ve never had a facial, now is not the time. If you’ve had one previously and have seen good results, go for it... given that you have enough time to recover.
The night before, stay hydrated, remember to cleanse, tone and moisturize and get your beauty sleep! The morning-of, cleanse, tone and moisturize again. If you’ll be outdoors for your wedding , apply a sunscreen formulated with SPF 30 to all exposed skin and reapply throughout the day. If you’re worried about disturbing your makeup, a translucent powdered sunscreen is a good option. Keep a touch up kit on hand with cotton swabs, blotting papers, tissues, extra sunscreen and a facial mist if you have dry skin.
Mario Badescu’s Skin Tips
Oily- Keep blotting papers and powder for touch-ups close by. Put your MOH on “shine-duty” and ask the photographer to keep an eye out for when makeup needs to be touched up.
Dry- Dry skin can sometimes look dull. Make sure to exfoliate and moisturize regularly in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Add lip exfoliation into your routine three times a week.
Combination- Keep spot treatments close by if a blemish pops up in an area where you are oilier and keep a hydrating serum around if you begin to flake in an area that is dry.
Sensitive- While it may be tempting to overhaul your skin care regimen or try a new treatment right before the wedding, resist! It isn’t worth the risk of an allergic reaction or breakout.
