One of the standout collections this season was none other than the Romona Keveza Couture Collection. Her show was a total delight for the fashionista at heart by mixing both the Fall 2012 Bridal and the Spring 2012 Eveningwear collections. Keveza’s fitting inspiration for her collections was the uber-sexy bombshell Brigitte Bardot. Her sweet, sex-kitten style was evident in everything from the modern bouffant hairstyle to the fun, leggy mini dresses.
Keveza opened the show with a witty trapeze mini in swingy Chantilly lace, decorated in silk organza flowers. The spirit might have evoked the sassy sixties, but the collection was firmly planted in the here and now. Other short dresses had sharply cut bell skirts or were to-the-knee slim sheaths. Sexy, charming and befitting of a modern-day Bardot.
Keveza’s full-on gowns were full-on gorgeous. Tiny floral beading, jeweled sashes and sexy corset bodices were a feast for the eyes. We loved the dresses with sheer tulle overskirts that gently concealed sexy shorter dresses. Wow!
Keveza always makes a major statement with her ball gowns too. They are so precisely cut and crafted; each one is more beautiful than the last. With fitted strapless and off the shoulder bodices, her skirts were full of drama with layers of voulant organza ruffles, organza leaves and silk flowers.
The Eveningwear collection made us long for an excuse to get gussied up. From the gold lamé one shoulder goddess to the ruby-red lace sheath or flowing halter neck, these are dresses for the very special occasion. The midnight blue and lavender chiffon gowns could be perfect for the ultra-chic mother-of-the-bride, while the Tiffany Blue and black layered short dress with feathered and flowered skirt begged to be worn by a bride with a cool, retro-modern sensibility to her very fashionable engagement party or rehearsal dinner.
