There is nothing quite like a Marchesa bridal collection and the new Fall 2012 season is no exception. Like misty, airy clouds, each Marchesa gown is dreamier than the next. Tulle, sheer illusion, silk chiffon and feathers keep the silhouettes weightless. Silk crepes, sculpted laces and silk gazar give the body structure and sensuality. Light tulle veils, some transparent and others with delicate embroidery added to the romance of it all.

Chic box clutches, the accessory of choice, were jeweled and encrusted with gobs of crystals and pearls. Sparkling diamond hair clips and pins gave softness to the sleek hair styles. In a collection that was exquisite from start to finish, we’d be hard pressed to pick favorites but we’ll try…

One look we adored was the Emily. Modern and timelessly chic. Clean and sleek from the front in weighty silk crepe with a low floral beaded illusion back set into a deep, sexy cowl. The clincher, though, was the sleeve, hand-rolled into the shape of the Marchesa signature rose and lightly beaded with crystals. It sits at the shoulder taking this dress from pretty to perfection. A whimsical and romantic touch.

There was plenty more whimsy and romance where that came from. The Bo Don, a short ostrich-feathered dress with swirling flourishes of beading on an illusion bodice and back makes this mini a serious wedding dress. Swirling flourish embroidery appeared on a long-sleeved illusion and tulle ball gown too, with hints of royal moments.

Designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig proved their awesome technical skill in their ability to sculpt lace and embroidery in a completely sensual manner. A trio of lacy mermaids were some of the sexiest dresses they presented, one with a layered peplum of ruffles on the hips, another in a super-fitted silhouette with a chaste high neckline and appliqued shoulders and the third in a sexy, exaggerated mermaid covered in appliqued lace leaves with full-on tulle fishtail skirt.

For the bride who wants a big (and we mean BIG) statement dress, the Marchesa ball gowns are otherworldly. Massive skirted puffs of ruffled tulle and cut organza that float in the most feminine way or giant, super-chic ballerinas with tiny platinum-beaded bodices.

A Marchesa bride knows exactly who she is and how she sees herself on her wedding day--breathtakingly chic, self-assured and utterly elegant. It would be nearly impossible to be anything else in any one of these incredible dresses.
