The Kenneth Pool collection is known for its rock-star like wedding dress divas. The Fall 2012 collection, however, took a softer, prettier turn. Super-light organza, soft tulle and crisp, chic taffeta were whipped up into some of the prettiest dresses of the season. The standard Kenneth Pool fitted silhouette gave way to ball gowns, swirling layers and feather-trimmed skirts.
One of our faves was the Cherie ball gown in creamy silk organza with a fitted, ruched bodice and luscious draped skirt sitting atop a cloud of dreamy tulle. This soft, warm tone of ivory will be gorgeous on many a skin tone. Speaking of clouds and constellations, Pool’s Pirouette ball gown has an exquisite skirt in tulle covered in a crystal Starburst pattern. This softly sparkling gown catches the light fantastically with its quiet bling.
Some of the sexier shapes included an organza-wrapped mermaid, the Raquelle, with a skirt exploding in abstract organza flowers as well as sassy ball gowns (yes, ball gowns can be sexy!) with sculpted and fitted jeweled or tightly draped bodices with wild-child feathered and tiered skirts.
The Kenneth Pool collection is still diva-worthy (do not despair), but these dresses are for a new kinder, gentler diva.
