Judd Waddell

Known for quiet, sophisticated wedding dresses, Waddell always manages to give the bride an air of effortless chic. No tricks, gimmicks or gew-gaws here, just a perfectly proportioned dress with the right amount of ruffle, beading or draping. His natural waists are exacting, sweetheart necklines have just the right amount of dip and the skirts of his ball gowns are precise in the amount of fluff and fullness.

Waddell's pitch-perfect sense is a true balancing act. All too often, the wedding dress becomes about the dress and not about the bride. Waddell is once again spot-on in his Fall 2011 collection, giving brides a group of beautiful, classic gowns with modern embellishments and silhouettes, designed to make her look and feel amazing.

There's more. Much to my delight, Waddell experimented with new details and shapes. Fanciful picot-edged ribbon appliques dart around a silk faille trumpet gown. Ruffles twist asymmetrically around the skirt of a silk organza A-line dress with a sheer black sash dramatically circling its waist. A sky-blue organza column peers through its white Alencon lace fluted top layer; a charming silk nosegay in violet sits atop a black organza sash. These were just some of my favorites.

Like baking the perfect wedding cake, Judd Waddell's collection has all the right ingredients with the prettiest, sweetest frosting there is. Yum.
