Lee's motto for her Spring 2012 collection should be "take a walk on the wild side." In what seemed like an ode to Mother Nature, Lee's collection felt like a hothouse full of beautiful, blossoming exotic flowers. Each dress is a rare specimen. Pretty organic shapes and free-flowing layers dominated. Embroidered flowers and silk blooms sprouted up on necklines, bodices and skirts. Her pleated ruffled tiers were like petals of tropical orchids, delicate and inviting.
I loved her strapless empire gown with featherweight organza layers topped with a curly-cued ruffle around the bodice. Lee's ball gown layered in superfine lace was like Charlotte's web, capturing small fragile blossoms and silk petals in the skirt. A standout was her crème taffeta A-line with a delirious frenzy of untamed taffeta and organza ruffles that take over the skirt.
Jenny Lee's new collection gives brides an amazing bouquet of wedding dress options. Which one will you pick?
