Dennis Basso

If drama is your game, then Mr. Dennis Basso might be your man. Well, your other man. In his second season designing exclusively for Kleinfeld, Basso gives girls another major dose of high glamour. While there’s nothing timid about his dresses, they are also infinitely wearable and modern.

One of our favorites is his corseted lace gown with multiple tiers of lace over horsehair. This dress begs to be swirled around on a ballroom dance floor. Basso’s tulle numbers are nothing short of spectacular. Chopped up petal-like layers of tulle form a big ball skirt topped with a chic pearl and crystal encrusted strapless bodice for just the right amount of bling. Retro looking, natural waisted tulle swing skirts look new and his tulle-skirted mermaids are sexy and fun.

Basso makes a significant play for body-hugging shapes with loads of embroidered and draped mermaids. One of his beaded torso mermaids with tiered ruffled skirt picked up on the retro trend with its trim, cropped pleated organza back-button jacket and neat elbow length sleeves. This gown and its accompanying topper cut a truly sophisticated silhouette in an elegant, modern manner, which seems to be Basso’s prevailing philosophy for his Fall 2012 bride.
