Wedding dresses

Showing 13 of 90 dresses

The fresh-faced beauties of the Fall 2012 Christos show embodied the spirit and mood of the new ingénue bride. Light, airy and sweetly romantic; tulle, organza and lace seemed to float down the runway. Touches of beaded flowers and degrade petals gave a bit of whimsy and texture to these pretty gowns. Easy, wearable A-line and ball gown shapes never detracted from the simplicity of the dresses.

Some modern touches appeared throughout the collection. The Fiona tiered ball gown in white Chantilly lace went beyond strapless with a sheer lacy overlay that morphed into a one-shoulder neckline. Its asymmetric single scalloped tier was unexpected and downright lovely. Slightly layered tiers and handkerchief-hem layers made their way onto several of the new Christos gowns edged in lace appliques or with flourishes of delicate beading.

The most modern gown in the collection was Muriel, a silk chiffon bias column with drapey cowl front and back and floating streamers that trailed behind. A touch of lace peeking out from the bodice added the requisite touch of sweetness we’ve come to expect from Christos.

With twelve beautiful dresses the Christos collection is always one of our favorites. What can we say? We’re suckers for a bit of romance.
