The Anais collection is definitely a family affair. From celebrated St. Pucchi designer Rani Totman and her two sons, Montree and Kris, comes a sexy, youthful collection affordably priced (from $900-$2500) and full of fashion forward looks.
The innovative 2011 collection gives brides a touch of that opulent St. Pucchi feeling without going to extremes. There are ruffles, chunky hand-beaded bodices, pleated layers and plenty of romantic flowers and bows. The Anais mini in cream sequined lace has the prettiest, frothiest pleated chiffon underskirt that peeks out below the scalloped hem and is topped with an oversized beaded lacy flower that sits whimsically at the bust.
The mermaids are important silhouettes in this collection, with perfectly form-fitted long line bodices giving way to full, wild ruffled skirts or pleated taffeta bubble-hem skirts. I loved the elegant sash of black velvet with a jeweled brooch on the organza mermaid.
This talented threesome also created some of the sweetest, freshest ball gowns of the moment. Floral embroidered organdies with touches of baby pink florettes, double layered voile tiered skirts dotted with pearls and completed with a soft, pleated crumb-catcher. The clean satin ball gown with folded portrait neckline looks demure and classic from the front, but has the surprise of a near-bare back to the waist.
