The 2011 collection was filled with fifties-inspired frocks. Elegant and polished, each dress had a ladylike attitude that felt fresh and retro at the same time. You could almost picture any of these gowns popping up in a Grace Kelly flick, full swishing skirts with a tight, sexy bodice - naïve and womanly at the same time.

Lace played a starring role, as did tulle and playful polka-dotted organza. Angelo's tea-length circle-skirted dress with its citrus floral corsage at the waist was a favorite, ideal for a garden wedding. The lightly dotted A-line and ball gown dresses with floaty top layers were highlights of the collection, feeling utterly feminine with a dash of surprise.

The addition of two spectacular Disney Princess gowns provided a fantastic finale. The Cinderella Platinum, a ball gown of layered asymmetric tulle and ornately jeweled bodice was befitting of this classic tale. The Rapunzel gown, a pretty A-line with hundreds of silk butterflies dancing around the skirt made me wonder, who wouldn't want to be a damsel in this dress?

The Alfred Angelo Bridesmaid collection, which was peppered throughout the show, gave us shocking acid-bright shades of tangerine, lime, strawberry, violet and poppy in shiny satins. Sharp and sassy, these dresses added a charming element of fun and flirt.
