Ready, Set, Action!

A well-produced video can be a wonderful memento of your nuptials.

Video has become a central element in documenting a couple's wedding day. Here are some basics you need to know.

From montages that look like music videos to full-blown docu-dramas, video has taken center stage in the wedding planning for couples, frequently becoming a production unto itself. If you are not that adventurous, but still want a beautiful living record of the day, hiring a videographer is a definite line item on your to do list.

A well-produced video can be a wonderful memento of your nuptials. Imagine how interesting it would be now if we could watch videos of our grandmothers walking down the aisle!

When you hire a videographer, discuss up front what approach you envision. Have them show you several videos they've produced, introducing you to their range, style and the cost of each approach. Most videographers produce two videos, one short version (an approximately 2-5 minutes highlight reel) and one longer version. Ask to see samples of both.

You don't want there to be any unpleasant surprises when it comes to your video. So, when you meet with your videographer, it is important to ask all of the right questions.
