Bride of the Week: Vino Thini

As a couple, Vino and Navin share a love of brunch and exploring to find the best places to partake of their favorite meal. Once they decided to get married, they knew they wanted to forsake the usual dinner reception for a brunch celebration earlier in the day and found a quaint restaurant in Singapore to host their nuptials.

They decided on décor with rustic, vintage touches. This meant patterned, antique-looking china for the place settings and table number holders in the form of mini tree trunks with their intials carved in.

Vino also stressed that they wanted a very personal wedding, and as such each guest found handwritten thank you notes from the couple waiting for them at the reception.

Instead of sending the flower girl down the aisle with the wedding rings, as Navin expected, Vino arranged a surprise for him. She had her flower girl carry a sign that read “Your love story begins here, Uncle Navin here comes your girl”.

The groom showed his sense of humor during their self-written vows, telling Vino, “You are the Sonny to my Cher even though it should be the other way around.”

The couple still smile looking at the photos from that day. As Vino says, “We are happy that we got married to each other’s best friend.”
