5 Biggest Travel Mistakes And How To Avoid Them
Avoid these common travel blunders to have the time of your life on your trip.
1. Consider the season
To begin your life together, you are more than likely going on a honeymoon, and like weddings, spring and summer are busy travel seasons. Make sure to check the dates that you are going- is it a popular travel or holiday weekend, is it rainy season and make your plans accordingly.
2. Take control of your itinerary
Having that once in a lifetime adventure trip rafting down the rapids... heading to a beach destination on a fun island... or taking the cultural option and going cosmopolitan and visiting a city where art, music, theater and fine dining are available. It's up to you— but make sure you don’t take on too much or you’ll need a vacation from your vacation.
3. Plan Ahead
Like everything in life, the better prepared you are and the more you get done in advance, the more time you'll have to enjoy. Make plane or boat reservations, book your hotels and make sure you have the right room with the right view confirmed. Call the hotel and make friends with the concierge and get your dinner reservations, theater or excursion tickets confirmed as well. Don't wait until you get there to find you're too late to do everything you set your sights on—the last thing you want on your honeymoon is disappointment.
4. Check Your Passport To Paradise
Check to see that your passports are valid, that your camera is working and that you have all necessary documentation. There’s nothing romantic about getting held up at customs.
5. Let It Go
Even the most well planned trips are subject to hitting some sanfus. Traffic, flight delays and weather are all out of your control. However, you can control how you react to these issues. IF bad luck strikes, make the most of your trip by letting it go and not getting upset. After all, you’re traveling with the one you love!
