Being engaged gets you thinking about Gratitude on a whole other level. This cardinal virtue is the “Secret Sauce” that will lead you to contentment, happiness, love, acceptance and just about any other good thing you can think of! Without gratitude, all other good qualities are lusterless. You’ll still have them, of course, but the simple power of gratitude and its grounding, humbling quality will support and guide your outlook and behavior, making your other qualities even more virtuous.

Life without gratitude is like a wonderful meal that is beautifully prepared and mouth-wateringly delicious – minus the salt. Gratitude is like salt: its presence heightens every other good quality and is indispensable to a delicious meal, just as gratitude is the finishing touch to a fine, fully-aware and complete person. You may be a terrific, well-intentioned, go-getting kind of person, but if you lack gratitude, you’ll wonder what’s missing from the equation that is your life. You’ll feel its loss – and notice it in your interactions with others – and won’t even know what’s missing. Simple exercises or affirmations on gratitude are a powerful, universal and elegant doorway to many surprises. Are you ready for the journey?

Gratitude is like a wonderful meal prepared beautifully and smelling mouth-wateringly delicious – minus the salt. Gratitude is like salt: its presence heightens every other good quality and is indispensable to a fine, wholesome meal or indeed – a fine, fully-aware and complete person. You may be a terrific, Type-A, well-intentioned, good, go-getting kind of person, but if you lack Gratitude, you’ll wonder long and hard what’s missing from the equation that is your life. You’ll feel its loss and won’t even know what it is you’re missing.

What may be M.I.A., perhaps, is gratitude. Otherwise known as thankfulness, gratefulness, acknowledgement and recognition and occasionally masquerading as indebtedness, praise, appreciation and obligation. Simple exercises or affirmations on gratitude are a powerful, universal and elegant doorway to many surprises. Are you ready for the journey?

Scientific studies reflect the real benefits of Gratitude. Here are some (and it’s all good!):

  1. Gratitude can lessen levels of stress, anxiety and depression
  2. Joy and overall happiness increase with feelings of gratitude
  3. Gratitude benefits our mind, body and soul. We feel better as a result.
  4. Gratitude increases our resilience and boosts our contentment with the here and now.
  5. You sleep better: Forget counting sheep – try counting your blessings instead!
  6. Gratitude makes for stronger relationships. We all feel better when we feel supported and appreciated, and in turn, support our partner in real ways.
  7. The “Pay It Forward” factor. Gratitude makes us want to share the warm feelings associated with it by spreading the goodwill to others.
