Vintage Autumn Wedding
Real Wedding: Victoria and William
This vintage autumn wedding created by the Colin Cowie Celebrations team pretty much sums up everything we love about fall. From the bride’s stunning wedding dress with black floral detailing, to the intricate wooden wedding arch intertwined with fresh calla lilies, this wedding perfectly pays tribute to the season. The couple celebrated their love with their closest friends and family at an elegant formal reception complete with deep red roses, romantic lighting, and of course, a champagne tower for the big toast! We know you can't help but fall in love with all the sophisticated, elegant, and memorable details:
"My gown is rather unconventional. I tried on dozens and dozens of gowns, nothing seemed quite right. One afternoon in Vera Wang my mother asked me to try on the Jacqueline, I acquiesced thinking the dress would be another dud. It turns out it was MY dress. We had it altered to fit my exact wishes and I ended up with a one-of-a-kind gown. We used the magnificent Julie Sabatino of The Stylish Bride to help us style the clothes of the bridal party, once we found the bridal gown we styled everything from there. "
The bride and groom met in a Manhattan park at midnight, they chatted pleasantly and separated without even exchanging numbers. Through a long series of fortunate events, they re-met two years later and have been together ever since.
"We wrote the entire ceremony together, and a mentor of mine became officiated so he could legally marry us. We wrote our own vows and did not share them with each other until the ceremony. We were that much closer with each other once we heard how similar our vows actually were."
"It was important to us to have rich jewel tone colors to highlight the wedding party and to bring out the beautiful autumnal colors of New York. We used rich plum, dark burgundy, and emerald green. For the ceremony we used light blue with an accent of the darker colors and we flipped it around for the dinner. And the Harold Pratt House is an honest slice of old New York, it fit the style perfectly."
"We wanted a specific menu that had elements from our favorite restaurants and a coordinated palate. Peter Callahan created many, many options, and then worked with us to edit them down to a delicious and unique offering for our guests. We chose custom miniature cakes to be given to each guest instead of a traditional cake and a cake cutting ceremony. One of them was even designed after my wedding gown!"
"Julie from the Colin Cowie team planned our event and was there for us every step of the way. The planning process was seamless, and every detail we did and did not think of was effortlessly handled by them."
