Real Wedding: Erica and Marc
“We wanted casual and fun for our wedding. Marc and I are happiest in casual atmospheres and wanted our wedding to feel that way,” says Erica. It was just one of the many recipes for an unforgettable evening planned by the couple. Read on.
Just how amazing was the food at Marc and Erica's wedding?
Since the groom is a CIA-trained chef who’s worked under the likes of Todd English and Waldy Malouf and now owns his own high-end catering company, On The Marc Events, their 155 guests easily anticipated it would be that good.
Except the couple didn’t stop there when it came to the Wow Factors at their October 22, 2011 wedding in New York City.
First, there was the venue. No predictable hotel banquet room or loft space would work for this couple. Instead, they hosted their affair at The West 79th Street Boat Basin, with its outdoor limestone patio a stone’s throw from Manhattan’s epic Hudson River.
Then there were the deeply touching details of their ceremony. The red chuppah the couple married under was an heirloom that had been in the groom’s family for over 100 years. The pillars holding it up were wrapped in sunflowers, “They are my favorite flowers because of the happiness they exude,” explains Erica. She beamed when she walked down the aisle in her Monique Lhuillier ball gown.
