Busy Bride Total-Body Workout
With Amanda Russell
This is it, the Super Bowl of every woman’s life: your WEDDING!
With the arrival of your wedding comes perhaps one of the busiest times of your life. Trust me, I know from experience! Not only are you trying to keep up with your job and daily life duties, but you now have a wedding to plan, emotions going crazy, often loads of drama, family pressures, endless celebrations, appointments, logistics and decisions.
To say a bride-to-be is ‘busy’ can be a massive understatement. It’s easy to get so wrapped up in all the ‘busy-ness’ that you let fitness go, and come ‘game day’, you aren’t feeling beautiful or confident or simply your BEST.
Ladies, I have to be blunt, if there is ONE element of planning that should be a priority, it is your health and fitness! I could name a million reasons why, but think about this: EVERY girl dreams of her big day - the dress, the hair, the jewelry... BUT ladies, I’m telling you, it’s not about an expensive wedding gown, shoes or accessories. The way you are going to TRULY glow, both inside and out, is through owning your body and being proud, healthy and fit.
My brother put it best when he said, “A hot body and confident attitude can rock a trash bag.” It’s harsh but true – isn’t that what brothers are for? No matter what you’re wearing, you'll look your best when you’re feeling your best.
And, let’s not forget the countless other benefits associated with getting fit. In fact, the stress reduction that comes with getting your endorphins going for 30 minutes will make you more calm, more productive and happier for the other 23 ½ hours in the day. What bride doesn’t need more of that in her life?
So let’s do it! Let’s sweat it out together. NO equipment, NO money, NO lengthy time commitment, NO excuses. YOU are worth it!
Here’s what you need to complete the workout in the video above:
- Optional Light Set of Hand Weights (I use 5lbs or a water bottle in each hand)
- Towel to wipe up the sweat!
Do 10 reps of each exercise, and complete 2-3 cycles of all five moves.
- The 3-Way Lunge
- One Leg Toe Touch to Front Kick
- Barrier Jump
- Bridge Ups
- Weighted Squat Jumps
Add 15 minutes of brisk power walking, running, or the cardio of your choice.
Once you’ve completed the workout, I’d love to hear your feedback! I’ll be reading all of your comments and questions, helping with trouble zones and offering support on Facebook and Twitter.
